February is always hard for me because it is the month that my daughter’s father passed away eight years ago. Since his death, I have not had the luck of having a Valentine’s. Last year for Valentine’s Day, I got a few of my friends together and called it “Galentine’s Dinner.” I did not want to spend the day alone, so it was perfect for us to come together over food and drinks.
This year I knew I wanted to do it all over again and make it an event. It turned out to be a huge success. This was my very first event at a restaurant so it was a little different for me. I made reservations for twenty and open the spots for whoever wanted to join. All spots went quickly within a matter of a few days. The waitlist grew longer as the days went by and that just gave me confirmation that I should have this event next year but only BIGGER!
Galentine’s Day was nothing short of amazing! I truly appreciate each lady who showed up to my Goals with Girlfriends: Galentine’s Day dinner. We discussed our love language, and even though we did not get to go into detail, I felt we still were able to have great conversations. My event was to spread love amongst Girlfriends, with old and new friends! I met some new women and reconnected with others. I thank god for giving me the gift to bring women together in different ways. I always get so excited to bond and meet new women and to connect with old friends. I was so busy being in the moment that I did not get to capture much from the event, but I am excited about future events.
